JOINT PARISH COUNCILS' TRAFFIC CONSULTATIVE GROUP
The group was set up by MAP in response to the need to share local roads, traffic and transport issues. It meets quarterly, and each Parish Council pays an easy subscription of £50 p.a. for secretarial support and meeting costs. The group currently has 17 Parish Councils represented. It now operates independently of MAP apart from using its banking facility.
Group meetings commonly invite expert speakers from Kent County Council's Highway Department, bus and train providers, experts in the transport field e.g. on air pollution, and elected representatives including local MPs.
