Trudy Dean (Chair), Alan Gibbins (Vice Chair), Molly Potts (Malling Society), Peter Cosier, Bernard Tyson

We were very grateful indeed for the expert advice and workmanship provided by local house restorer Gary Purser

PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM

MAP owns a simple PA system with one microphone which can be used wirelessly. It is in regular use by the Lunch Club Group at the Dorcas Centre but is available for hire at £25 per day to recognised organisations to facilitate local events.

SILVER LUNCH CLUB

In addition to the continuing work of MAP we began a new project in September 2018 in partnership with the East Malling Centre. A National Lottery Grant of over £9,000 was won to set up the Silver Lunch Club at The Centre. The club meets in the Centre's Cafe on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Meals must be booked in advance at 01622 716138 or lizsimpson55@outlook.com. Transport is available provided by Age Concern, West Malling, for anyone with mobility problems. The Silver Lunch Club specialises in providing a 3-course delicious, healthy, freshly cooked meal under chef coordinator Liz Simpson.

If you are interested in gaining catering skills or volunteering at the club contact Liz.

IMPORTANT: Please note that due to COVID-19 the Silver Lunch Club is not currently meeting and is unlikely to be able to do so until New Year 2021.

CLARE LAKE RESTORATION PROJECT

Volunteers have been helping out at Clare Lake, East Malling since 2016.

Meeting once a month on a Saturday morning from Spring to Autumn, they carry out litter picks around the lake and wider area and carry out gardening work to keep vegetation under control.  Both hedge and bulb planting has taken place to enhance the the site.

You can find out more about the project by visiting the dedicated Clare Lake Restoration Project page on our website.
